about.
Visinema Studios Identity is a logo-animation project for the bumper that plays at the beginning of a film. Visinema Studios came with the message “all voices & ideas matter,” which reflects the way they approach brainstorming in their creative process. In this logo identity, they wanted that message to be visually represented as well.
They also wanted this bumper to be reusable across their other IPs, with the same conceptual foundation but adjusted to match each IP’s story. For this first one, the bumper will be shown in Jumbo, a film by Visinema Studios, and they requested that a Jumbo element be included in it.
result.
In the creative process of this project, as the creative director, I worked with paper.
Why paper? Because I felt that “all voices & ideas matter” in their brainstorming process is closely connected to it. Paper is often the companion of early ideation, sketches, scribbles, mockups, everything begins with paper. From the idea of paper, I brought it into origami. Origami has a process: starting from a blank, thin sheet and transforming it into something new with form and volume. It perfectly represents how an empty discussion can turn into something meaningful.
For the animation treatment, I noticed an important element in their logo: the chat-bubble silhouette inside the letter “O.” I focused on that letter and created a world inside it filled with discussions and characters interacting. It represents Visinema Studios actively engaging in their brainstorming process, where every voice is heard.
process.
For the characters from various Visinema Studios IPs that appear in the bumper, we redesigned them to look like they were made of origami. We started from 2D illustrations and translated them into 3D models with folded-paper characteristics.
For the environment, such as the buildings, I didn’t want them to resemble real-world architecture. I asked the design team to create more cartoon-like geometry with intentionally unusual shapes. The animation itself follows a pop-up-book style.
