Legenda Kelam Malin Kundang is one of the films produced by Come & See Pictures. In this project, we had the opportunity to contribute by creating the opening titles. As suggested by the word “kelam” (dark) in the title, the opening sequence was also intended to carry a dark and somber atmosphere. My role in this project was to ensure that the text animation blended seamlessly with the intended mood.

In these titles, we combined live-action footage, video editing, and motion graphics for the text. I brought a dark and somber atmosphere to the typography by adding rough textures and distortion effects. In addition, I used slightly “broken” or jerky movements to reinforce that mood.
