Youtube Watch to Grow
about.
When pitching for an exciting project, sometimes we win it sometimes we don’t. One example is the YouTube Watch to Grow project. Although we didn’t get the opportunity to work on it officially, we didn’t let the idea sit in the drawer. We imagined as if the project were ours and completed it using the concepts and visual approach we truly believed in while also exploring styles and animations we hadn’t tried before.

This piece tells the story of a character who feels stuck in their daily routine until they’re drawn into the world of YouTube, where everything becomes more vibrant through the presence of diverse content creators. We aimed to combine that narrative with visuals that feel hand-drawn and textured, creating a world that feels both imaginative and fun at the same time.
process.
For the character animation, we used frame-by-frame techniques, while the backgrounds were built with motion graphics. We didn’t just play with movement we also explored texture to enhance the visual depth. There are also layers of visual semiotics throughout the piece: paper planes and hot air balloons symbolizing the character’s journey toward a destination, and a tree representing a home for content creators.
